What a pitty - the HD versions contain a CHM file with both English and German instructions, but the required cable differs, so find here the original SD steps from the included PDF:
You will need the following to perform the update:
Please don't disconnect the receiver from the power supply before the transfer is finished and the receiver is in standby mode. If this should happen e.g. due to a power failure, unplug the receiver from the power for a moment and then connect the power supply again.
You will need the following to perform the update:
- a serial 1:1 cable with one 9 pin female and one 9 pin male connector (do NOT use a Null Modem Cable)
- Loader.exe, Font.app, Out.app (all contained in the archive)
- Unzip all or at least the mentioned files into a folder on your hard disk
- Disconnect the receiver from the power supply.
- Connect receiver and computer by the serial cable mentioned above.
- Connect the receiver to the power supply and wait until it is switched into standby mode.
(I'm not sure, whether you will need to turn on the receiver after this step - it is required for HD devices but is not mentioned in the SD guide... - it definitely works with SD devices turned on, but not sure whether it is required) - Now execute the Loader.exe
- Select from "COM-Port" the Serial interface which is connected to the receiver.
- Click the button Start Update.
- The circle status icon turns from green to red.
- Next to the icon the current file name will be displayed.
- All files will be uploaded automatically one after another.
- At the end of the update you will get a message "Update erfolgreich abgeschlossen!" (Update finished sucessfully!)
- Please wait until this message appears.
(Using a USB-to-RS232 connector this may take up to 10 minutes!) - The status icon turns back to green and the Receiver will be switched to standby.
- Before removing the serial connection, please disconnect the receiver from the power supply.
Please don't disconnect the receiver from the power supply before the transfer is finished and the receiver is in standby mode. If this should happen e.g. due to a power failure, unplug the receiver from the power for a moment and then connect the power supply again.
